Hayling Glass Fibre Repairs has been there on Hayling Island on the side of Chichester Harbour for nearly 40 years, building and developing the business all the time.

They like to think that being a small family run company they are able to offer individuality and a personal service to all aspects of the business and the different services they now offer the marine industry is growing all the time.

Mike Frith set up his business HGFR back in the 70’s, first working from home and travelling around the country as a mobile unit. He was offered a site at Sparke’s Boatyard on the edge of Chichester Harbour which encouraged his customers to bring their boats to him.

In the 80’s the boatyard was developed into a Marina complex which resulted in more growth to the business.   Mike rented an office overlooking the new marina with a large boat shed adjoining. The marina was taken over by MDL in 2005.

Mike’s wife Jackie joined him over 20 years ago to work in the office and then his son Dean joined the family business too. As a result this has enabled them to offer a greater service to the public.

A recent development is that Dean has taken over the running of the company with Mike and Jackie now working for him.

The company name has been changed to 3D Marine Ltd.  The business is all the same, the same people, the same top class work, the same individual service to customers, it is just a new name to take the business forward into the future.  With Mike and Dean both offering their own skills and knowledge to their customers, then hopefully 3D Marine can continue to run there at Sparke’s Marina for the next few decades as his dad Mike has done for the last 40 years.
