About Hayling Glass Fibre Repairs

Originally learning his laminating skills in boat building at Halmatics, Mike Frith started his own small business in 1976, working from home and travelling the length and the breadth of the south coast, as a mobile repair unit. As the business grew, Mike was offered a permanent site at Sparkes Boatyard in Chichester Harbour, which encouraged many customers to bring their boats to him, allowing growth within the business.

The Boatyard was developed into a Marina complex back in the 1980's and began to offer a working yard facilities.

This resulted in a growth to the business which has led to Mike having an office over-looking the Marina with a large boat shed adjoining.

The Marina was taken over by Marina Developments Ltd. (MDL) in 2005 which has helped in bringing the Marina right up to date.

Mike’s wife Jackie, joined him in the business in 1995, to run the office and administration side of the business. Then in 2000 Mike’s son Dean also joined the business, after completing his Boat Building course at college. Ten years on from that, Dean and Mike run the business successfully together with Dean now the person looking to take the business forward into the future

As a result, this has enabled them to offer a greater service to the boating and yachting fraternity, services which include Fibre Glass Repairs – of any size, Antifouling, Antifoul and Paint Removal, Copper Coating, Osmosis Treatment and Prevention, Topside Refurbishment, Supplying and Fitting Bow Thrusters and Stern Thrusters, Painting and Varnishing, Sand Blasting and Keel Blasting, Annual Maintenance, Under Cover Storage.
